Our Influence
ARMA exists to improve the lives of the 20 million people living with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. By bringing together the organisations, expertise and voices of the MSK community, we help ensure MSK health is recognised as fundamental to prevention, independence and participation.
MSK must become a national priority. ARMA’s role is to turn the collective voice of the MSK community into national influence.
Influencing policy and national priorities
ARMA works to ensure MSK health is recognised in national policy and system priorities.
We:
- Make the case for MSK health with government, the NHS and policymakers
- Develop policy positions with our members
- Respond to national consultations and programmes
- Promote MSK health as essential to improving healthy life expectancy
- Strengthen recognition of MSK conditions across other long term conditions.
Through this work, ARMA helps ensure the needs of people living with MSK conditions are better reflected in decisions affecting millions of lives.
Strengthening the collective voice of MSK
ARMA brings organisations across the MSK community together to develop shared priorities and stronger influence.
We:
- Bring members together to shape shared positions.
- Create opportunities for collaboration and shared learning
- Connect patient organisations, professional bodies and researchers
- Strengthen the collective voice of the MSK community
- Build partnerships across the health and care system.
When we act together, change happens faster and reaches more people.
Driving improvement through collaboration
ARMA connects policy, practice and lived experience to support better MSK health.
We:
- Share evidence and good practice
- Support cross sector collaboration
- Highlight innovation and improvement
- Support networks and partnerships
- Help translate insight into practical change.
Through this work, ARMA helps ensure MSK health is recognised as a foundation of how people live, work and age well.
