The British Dietetic Association was founded in 1936, making it one of the oldest dietetic organisations in the world. We are the professional body and trade union for UK dietitians, and represent the whole of the dietetic workforce – practitioners, researchers, educators, support workers and students.
Registered dietitians are qualified health professionals that assess, diagnose and treat diet and nutrition problems at an individual and wider public health level. Dietitians are statutorily regulated, with a protected title and governed by an ethical code, to ensure that they always work to the highest standard.
